- ArthritisThe personalization of my practice necessitates that I provide different skills and approaches when presented with a child with a flat foot versus an older individual with painful rheumatoid arthritis or a diabetic with nerve pain or a factory worker with heel pain or a young woman whose toenails have developed a fungus. In this context I have sought to develop therapeutic options that incorporate a variety of technologically advanced procedures and materials.
- Plantar FasciitisRecently, a non-surgical alternative modality called Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy (ESWT) gained the Food and Drug Administration’s approval for treatment of recalcitrant plantar fasciitis. This technology has been around for over 20 years for treatment of kidney stones. It is a non-surgical, non-invasive alternative for chronic heel pain sufferers who have failed to improve after an extended period of conservative therapy.

The treatment will be gentle and virtually painless, and we'll get you back to your normal activities right away. - Skin CancerMany people think since their feet and ankles don’t generally get much sun or ultraviolet light exposure, they don’t have to worry about getting skin cancer on their feet. It can cause cancerous lesions hidden under the toenails or in thick skin on the soles or balls of the feet, so be sure to have regular visits with your foot doctor. Read More

- CornsHammertoe is a deformity of the second, third, fourth or fifth toes. In this condition, the toe is bent at the middle joint, resembling a hammer. Untreated hammertoes can become inflexible & require surgery. People with hammertoe may have corns or calluses on the top of the middle joint of the toe or on the tip of the toe. Hammertoes may cause pain in toes or feet.
- CallusesBunions are due primarily to genetic factors, but can become painful over time due to trauma, ill-fitting shoes and poor foot structure. The bone connected to the big toe starts to drift outward pushing the big toe sideways into the other toes which can also lead to painful hammertoes, corns & calluses. Untreated bunions not only can become painful, but can become progressively worse. Wider shoes, padding & custom orthotics may slow down this progression, surgery is the only way to correct the bunion deformity.

- Foot InfectionsFungal foot infections. They can create major discomfort and even embarrassment. They are also EXTREMELY COMMON; affecting millions of people each year. Additionally, fungus is easily spread. Individuals with fungus may have contracted it through shared bathroom space, public locker rooms, showers, and pools, shared clothing or shoes, even carpeting. For some, fungus is simply genetic. When this is the case, treatment can become even more difficult given the likelihood of reoccurrence. One of the most prevalent types of fungal foot infections directly affects your toenails. This type of condition is known as onychomycosis.
- Ingrown ToenailsAn ingrown toenail occurs when a corner of the nail grows into the flesh of the toe, causing redness and swelling, followed by pain and often infection. Ingrown nails may happen due to improper trimming of the toenail, trauma or genetic factors.
- Foot WartsFoot warts are caused by a virus. You may notice little black dots in the wart. People sometimes think these dots are splinters. They are actually the blood vessels that nourish the wart. You can get viral warts anywhere you walk barefoot, such as the local pool, karate studio, dance studio, locker room or even from a pedicure salon.
