It additionally provides trash and waste recycling services. The department specializes in recycling various products, such as newspapers, cardboards, office papers, plastic jugs, and tin and aluminum cans. The Public Works Department is governed by the City of Gulf Shores, which also operates library, museum, police, revenue, economic development, human resources and fire departments.
