The Columbia County School System operates more than 17 elementary schools, seven middle schools, four high schools and one alternative school. Its schools curricula include fine arts, social studies, science, health and physical education, mathematics, career and technology education and foreign languages. The district operates through human resources, technology, transportation and special services departments. Its schools offer a variety of sports activities, such as cross country, football, volleyball, softball, cheerleading, wrestling, swimming, track and field, tennis, baseball, golf and soccer. In addition, the Columbia County School System supports several clubs and organizations that include the National Honor Society, Family Careers and Community Leaders of America and student council, as well as beta, drama, Renaissance and Spanish clubs. Its schools feature media centers that provide a range of reading and reference resources. The district is located in Grovetown, Ga.
