The 2nd Parish Court provides services for resolving and recording legal matters. It administers individual justice to identify and remove barriers to access. The court protects individual rights and liberties, as well as protects the confidentiality of court participants as required by the laws. The 2nd Parish Court maintains criminal jurisdiction of territory in Jefferson Parish, La., near the west bank of the Mississippi River. The court also has civil jurisdiction that undertakes lawsuits where the amount of damages sought is $20,000 or less. Located in Gretna, La., the 2nd Parish Court offers various forms, including paperwork for motions, petitions, subpoenas and affidavits.
