- GuardianshipGuardianships — An essential parental responsibility is making sure that children are protected no matter what comes along. I help parents determine what types of instructions they want to give concerning the guardianship of their minor sons and daughters. Once a decision is made, I’ll draft a clear direction to be included with your will.

- Personal InjuryYes, though the workers’ compensation system prevents injury lawsuits against your employer, this bar does not apply if you were hurt at work due to the negligence of a third party. For example, if you are driving a vehicle during the course of your employment and are hit by a careless driver, you can obtain reimbursement for medical costs and lost wages through workers’ compensation and pursue other damages, such as compensation for pain and suffering, in a personal injury action against the negligent motorist.

For instance, a husband acting as durable power of attorney for his wife could sign a legal document on her behalf if she happened to be out of the state or country when the signature was needed.

- Tax LawWills — I walk clients through the drafting process, making an inventory of your assets and minimizing the potential for any ambiguities or disputes. Should a simple will suffice, I’ll make sure you understand the importance of appointing a suitable personal representative and clearly outline how real and personal property should be allocated. When tax issues, complex assets or other factors demand more extensive legal treatment, I’ll ensure that you have a clear perspective on your options. You should also remember that many things can change once a will has been completed. My firm can also help you review and revise a previously created will if necessary.
