I shared a terrible experience with the other younger tenants that moved out before me. I moved to the area for a job. The apartments seemed reasonable, but didn t realize I was moving to a lower cost of living area. The landlord was aware I occasionally worked night shifts when I signed the lease. Within hours of moving in and connecting my high end home theater system I received a complaint and agreed to disconnect it along with my surround sound for bedroom TV and desktop computer before even connecting them. Over the course of my lease I had a few thousand in audio equipment collecting dust and becoming outdated. I had complaints for almost every night shift I worked. I was told I was not allowed to watch TV from the factory LED TV speakers. I was told to purchase head phones or I would have to sit in silence when I got home from work around 12:00AM. The elderly neighbor was impossible to talk to or reason with regarding anything. The landlord asked me to change apartments in the middle of the lease as my noise was bothering the elderly neighbor. The apartment was clearly a downgrade and I refused. I purchased furnature that would not fit the other floor plan, I d have to change all of my utilites, and mailing address, in addition to finding the time in my busy schedule to move. The request was clearly illegal. The landlord is an attorney and I m sure he was aware of that. I hated the area and the apartment, so I requested transfer to a different work location. Before I could tell the landlord I was moving out, I received a rude letter in incredibly bad taste that he was not going to renew my lease because I refused to downgrade apartments. The apartments were dated and dumpy. The elderly neighbors had nothing better to do with their time than make complaints. I would not recommend them to anyone.
