Jefferson Elementary is a learning center that is governed by Guilford County Schools, which serves more than 71,000 students through various elementary, middle and high schools, as well as alternative education centers. The school enrolls over 715 students in pre-kindergarten through grade five. It offers English for the Speakers of Other Languages, accelerated reader and character education programs. Jefferson Elementary operates a student council, chorus, and safety patrol, chess, art and radio clubs. It also has a parent-teacher association that raises funds to support the purchase of school equipment and materials. The school provides a range of after-school care enrichment services that are licensed by the North Carolina Division of Child Development. It additionally provides meal and transportation services.
