  Dr. McConnell has been practicing dermatology in Greensboro since 2003. Prior to that, she received her undergraduate degree from Duke University and her Doctorate of Medicine from Wake Forest University School of Medicine. She completed a one-year internal medicine internship at Pitt County Memorial Hospital and her three-year dermatology residency at the Medical College of Georgia. She has been board certified by the American Board of Dermatology since 2004. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology.

  Skin cancer is a growth of abnormal cells, which are usually caused by the sun's harmful rays. There are many different types of skin cancer that your dermatologist can diagnose and treat. The more common types are Melanoma, Basal Cell Carcinoma and Squamous cell carcinoma. Early detection is crucial. If caught early, skin cancer is highly treatable which is why we recommend yearly exams.

She completed the Physician Assistant Program at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants she has since been practicing dermatology in Greensboro since 2002. She is also a Fellow member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.
