The Greenlawn Volunteer Fire Department is an organization of men and women who serve as firefighters and rescue personnel. The department s facility consists of fire stations, pumpers, tower ladder, hall, dispatch center and a rescue truck. Its hall is used for events, such as company meetings, training, fire prevention activities, social events and emergency medical classes. Headquartered in Greenlawn, N.Y., the organization provides ambulance services that include first aid and transportation to the Huntington Hospital of the district. Its rescue squad consists of emergency medical technicians, critical care technicians and paramedics who are trained in the lifesaving techniques.
