Terrible service. Large number of customers (8) in regular check-out line. Only that line and one 15-item line were open. One o'clock on a Friday afternoon. When I examined situation to man at customer service & asked about his opening another line his answer was that we could wait in either line. Later I called customer service on my cell and no one answered. Will never go here again.

Can't say enough good things about Safeway (Greenbelt) and in particular, Tonza Price (Manager). During this blizzard, when very few places were open, Giant (Beltsville) and McDonalds (Beltsville) REFUSED to feed OUR National Guard that were deployed to assist the citizens of Maryland. Why? Because they would not accept credit card payment for food over the telephone. When Mr. Price was contacted, he said "We aren't supposed to, but this is for the National Guard, so absolutely, whatever Safeway can do, we will". It's refreshing to know that it times of emergency at least one company (Safeway) has in it's employ a person who is capable of right and forward thinking.Thank you Tonza & Safeway!The Maryland Military Department

I used to shop at the Greenway Center Safeway often, but remodeling spoiled this store; it is now dark and gloomy compared to how bright and cheerful it used to be. In addition, there are never enough lanes open for people purchasing more than 15 items, causing it to take forever to get through the checkout lines. The brand selection has diminished severely over the past several years. I now avoid this store as much as possible. I feel sorry for the few old employees I see on the rare times I shop here...I have written remarks to their management before...and obviously whoever is in charge of this store no longer cares about it or the customers.

Recent remodeling poor with many narrow and crowded aisles and not adequate room for people in checkout lines. Selection of products improved but still is less than competing stores. Dark atmosphere not pleasant for shopping.
