I love that they honor the holidays for our loved ones. They help them to remember their religions and traditions even when our parents don't.
I feel secure in the choice I made in this community. I love that there is always something for my dad to do. They have a variety of activities and trips out for the residents.
I feel in love with this community from the first time I toured it. The staff were friendly and helpful. The community has a very unique and home like environment. That is very important to me in making my choice. I want my mom to feel welcome and at home at the place that I pick and I feel like she will at Pacifica.
My significant other has been at Pacifica for 6 months. In the beginning of his stay there, it was a positive placement for our family. There has been an almost complete change of staff, which caused a change in attitude. The care givers address issues that they should not, and when I call to give/receive input, I hit a wall. He has been very aggressive in his demeanor, which I understand was part of the disease. We have been told, he may be asked to leave for that reason, and I'm not sure what is being done to evaluate his behavior, or a soultion, (???medication), to correct. I am not clear who is doing the outside referrals, which has been another form of frustration. It has been suggested that we should pay for his transport to outside doctors, or come and get him and take him. I spent 2.5 hours one morning at the Psychiatrist office for her to tell me "I don't take that insurance." I called insurance company, and was told a referral was needed. I'm open for suggestion and change.
