- Primary CareUnderstand that diagnosis and treatment of this cancer will need a team of doctors including your primary care health care provider, surgeon, oncologist, and maybe radiation oncologist.
- Emergency CareCall your healthcare provider right away or go to the emergency room if after surgery your child has bleeding from his penis that doesn’t stop.
- Erectile Dysfunction
- Urinary IncontinenceRecent studies suggest that da Vinci Prostatectomy may improve cancer control and reduce the risk of urinary incontinence and impotence following surgery. Your doctor may be able to offer you a new, minimally invasive surgical procedure.
- Pelvic PainChronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome (CPPS), or prostatodynia (most common), occurs in men have with prostatitis symptoms but no inflammation or bacterial infection (few or no infection-fighting white blood cells in prostate secretions).
- Pregnancy
- Labor and DeliveryWhen pelvic floor muscles are stretched or damaged, most often by childbirth, they may stop supporting the bladder, uterus, or rectum. These organs can drop downward and cause feelings of pressure, fullness, and heaviness. They can bulge (prolapse) into the vagina.
- Bladder CancerOur specialists diagnose and treat a complete range of urological conditions. We can answer your questions about bladder cancers and treatments or set up your appointment today.

- Kidney CancerThe kidneys are reddish-brown bean-shaped organs located just above the waist, one on each side of the spine. As part of the urinary system, their main jobs are filtering blood and making urine to get rid of body wastes. Renal cell carcinoma is a type of kidney cancer. It accounts for 90% to 95% of kidney cancers, but it’s not very common (occurs in 1 of 10,000 people yearly). Twice as many men as women have it, usually between 50 and 70 years old.
- Kidney StonesKidney stones are hard deposits that form in kidneys from substances in the urine. This process is called nephrolithiasis. Kidney stones can be tiny or up to several inches around. Very large stones that fill the tubes carrying urine from the kidneys to the bladder (ureters) are called staghorn stones.
- Testicular CancerUndescended testicles that aren't corrected may cause fertility problems, such as low sperm counts, later in life. Men who had an undescended testicle, either fixed by surgery or not, have a greater risk of getting testicular cancer.
- Colon Cancer
- Urinary Tract InfectionThe most common cause of a UTI is a bacterium named Escherichia coli, which is found in the intestines. Bacteria on the skin or near the anus can get into the urinary tract and move up.
- Prostate CancerThe Prostate-Specific Antigen Test is a blood test also referred to as a PSA test, which will be done if prostate cancer is suspected.
- UltrasoundUltrasound uses soundwaves to see inside testicles; it's painless and harmless. If ultrasound shows a mass (lump), a urologist will operate to remove the testicle.
- MRIThe only way to confirm the diagnosis is with a biopsy. For a biopsy, the doctor removes a small piece of the kidney and checks it with a microscope. CT or MRI is also used to learn the stage or extent of disease, which helps plan treatment. Staging tells the health care provider whether the cancer has spread (such as to lymph nodes (glands) or lungs) and, if so, how far.
- X-Rays
- Computed TomographyStaging is done to find out how far the disease has spread. Staging involves blood tests, computed tomography (CT), and possibly surgery to remove lymph nodes (called retroperitoneal lymph node dissection, or RPLND).
- ChemotherapyTreatment depends on the type of cancer (seminomatous or nonseminomatous) and its stage. Seminomatous tumors without spread are treated with radiation. With distant spread, chemotherapy is used.
- Radiation TherapyTreatment depends on age and health, how far the cancer spread (stage of disease), what the cancer looks like under the microscope, and response to first treatment. Standard treatments include watchful waiting, surgery, radiation therapy, and hormone therapy.
- LaparoscopyIf your baby’s healthcare provider cannot feel them in the inguinal canal, an ultrasound examination may be done. This test uses soundwaves to look inside the body. Your healthcare provider may order other tests if the ultrasound doesn't show the testicles. Computed tomography (CT) can make images of the inside of the body more clearly. Sometimes an operation called laparoscopy needs to be done. In laparoscopy, the doctor uses a small, flexible, lighted tube (laparoscope) to see into the abdomen.
- Physical TherapyIf Kegel exercises do not help, special physical therapy may improve bladder control. This therapy includes biofeedback and electrical stimulation.
