- Dental CareJust as it’s important for you to see a dentist regularly, it’s important for dogs and cats as well. Your pet’s oral health is directly connected to their overall health. Signs of dental disease include bad breath, loose, broken, or missing teeth, yellow or brown teeth, red, inflamed, or bleeding gums, difficulty or pain when chewing, pawing at the mouth, and excessive drooling. If you notice any of these symptoms, please contact our veterinary team, and we’ll be happy to help.
- VaccinationAll pets admitted to the hospital for any procedure are required to be up to date with their annual preventative care exams and vaccinations. If another hospital provided this service, proof of vaccination would be requested when the appointment is made. If you do not have your vaccination certificate, we will be happy to call the clinic that vaccinated your pet on your behalf. This policy is vital for the health and safety of every pet that comes to our hospital.
- Nutritional CounselingWhy is dental care so important? Recent studies have shown that 70% of adult cats and 80% of adult dogs show symptoms of oral disease. In fact, most pet parents are not away that their pet is dealing with dental issues. Bad breath, plaque build-up, excessive drooling, sore or bleeding gums when eating or chewing, and decreased appetite are signs that your pet’s teeth may require veterinary attention.
- Comprehensive ExaminationWe want to be your partner in your pet’s care. Like any relationship, communication is important, and we hope you find value in your pet’s annual exams and check-ups. Bringing your pet to Two Rivers Pet Hospital for physical examinations is crucial to his or her health. We offer thorough physical examinations so that we can detect any potential problems before they become major problems.
- Parasites Treatment and Control
- Parvovirus Infection TreatmentFor your pet’s safety, all dogs visiting the clinic must be on leashes and all cats must be in carriers or harnessed. If you need to borrow a leash or a carrier, please ask us. Convenient cardboard carriers are available at the reception desk. We are located on a busy street and do not want any pets escaping and potentially being in a high risk or harmful situation. If your pet may have a contagious disease (ie. kennel cough, parvovirus, etc.) you may be asked to hold your pet in your vehicle until we are able to place you in an examination room to avoid contamination of the waiting room and exposure to other pets.
- Veterinary SurgeryThis is any surgery not related to bones or joints. It can be routine elective procedures such as neuters and spays to much more complicated intra-abdominal surgeries. Our veterinary personnel does a careful evaluation that determines whether or not your pet requires soft tissue surgery. We strive to make your pet’s procedure as safe and comfortable as possible before, during, and after the surgery. Our veterinarian uses the safest and most effective anesthesia to manage your pet’s pain during soft tissue surgery. We will closely monitor your pet’s vitals throughout the process.

- Spaying and NeuteringSome owners are initially uncomfortable with the idea of taking away their pet’s ability to breed. However, spaying and neutering is not only a healthier option, but it also helps other animals stand a chance at adoption. Most unplanned pet pregnancies result in puppies or kittens whose owners are unwilling or unable to care for them. These animals usually end up in shelters or on the street as strays. In fact, the ASPCA estimates that approximately 6.5 million companion animals enter U.S. pet shelters each year. Sadly, a large number of these pets will never find a forever home. By preventing your pets from unexpectedly breeding, you can reduce the number of pets going into shelters, thereby increasing the odds of adoption for current shelter residents.

- Dental RadiologyAt Two Rivers Pet Hospital, we are proud that we have the most up-to-date equipment to treat dental disease, including digital dental x-rays. This allows us to detect if there is any disease beneath the gum line that we would not be able to see otherwise. We are often able to see undetected abscesses, broken teeth, resorbed roots, retained roots, and more, thanks to dental radiographs. We are then able to extract the problem tooth or root or properly clean and flush the abscess. Please schedule a dental exam with us today!
