Montana Refining specializes in the processing of Canadian crude oils and serving markets within the state. The company is located in Great Falls, Mont. In January 2004, the company increased its refining capacity from 7,000 to 8,000 BPSD. Montana Refining is located on a 56 acre site equipped with crude distillation, vacuum distillation, FCC, HF alkylation, catalytic reforming, hydrodesulfurization, isomerization, sulfur recovery and product blending unit capabilities. The company has a product tankage, asphalt blending/loading facilities, maintenance shops, warehouses and office buildings on site. Montana Refining also processes 300 BPSD of natural gas and butane. Montana Refining is a division of Holly Corporation, a company also with refining facilities in New Mexico and Utah. Holly Corporation also leases more than 1,600 miles of petroleum pipelines in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma. The company has refined product terminals in several Southwest and Rocky Mountain states.
