I have shopped at B&C in Grass Valley, CA for over 30 years. I have been very disappointed at times with the arrogant rude attitude of some long time employees over the years. I have complained to the Owners/ Management of B&C with zero response. So I have been spending my $$$ out of town other than A to Z. On 1-29-2018 I was in B&C for the last time. We had a shopping cart half full of things . I saw some paint on clearance a sign said they cant color match some of the brands. I picked up a can and was headed over to the Paint counter, where a middle aged lady and two men were talking. We were the only people in the area and about 20 feet from the counter He (Ken?) looks at us, rolls his eyes and says Oh God, here comes some more of them! to his co-workers. The Lady and younger man - look at us as I stood at the counter and walked away. I said- the sign says the sale paint cannot be Color Matched but the paint was a tint base and needed tint can at least tint some color? Ken ( not sure of his name- older man with mustache and dark hair looks like it had been dyed ) Barks at us and says YOU WERE TOLD THAT WHEN YOU BOUGHT THE PAINT! YOU HAVE TO GO TO PENN VALLEY AND HAVE THEM TINT IT! I was flabbergasted. I said I was merely asking a question and had not bough the paint. He said Oh I told him I could not believe how rude he was. He then said well here fill this out if you have a complaint and shoved a piece of paper at me. I told him he could keep the paper and the stuff in the basket. I have seen the signs shop Local LMAO! Not B&C ever again. Over the last 3 years myself and family has spent over $65,000 on remodel supplies (3 houses) I can gladly say that that less than $1,000 was spent at B&CIn Retrospect I thank the rude people of B&C! Because of the rude attitudes I have endured over the years, I stopped shopping at B&C . I am sure the cost would have been over $80,000 if I bought the same supplies at B&C! So they saved me $15,000 ! .sometimes you have to look for the silver lining!
