General Info

An accomplished general surgeon, Dr. Julio Rivera specializes in advanced laparoscopic abdominal procedures and has been performing advanced laparoscopy for many years. Dr. Rivera received his undergraduate degree in chemistry at Baylor University and went on to receive his medical degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. Dr. Rivera is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and is a member of the Society of Laparoscopic Endoscopists and the American Hernia Society. Born in Peru, Dr. Rivera grew up in South Texas where he enjoyed surfing as a teenager.
