Clayburn has been in the refractory business since 1905, and has a refractory plant in Grantsville, Md. The plant has enabled the company to expand into the steel industry, become a broader supplier to the brick making industry and its location allows it to be more competitive on the East Coast. Its products include refractory facebricks and firebricks, dense and insulating castables, mortars and insulation. It is a major supplier of refractory products for all smelting technologies, including steel and aluminum. Clayburn is one of the pioneers in the development of bath-resistant refractory products.
