Shan E. Abbas, MD, is a board-certified clinical neurologist and fellowship-trained epileptologist. After earning his medical degree from Dow Medical College, University of Karachi in Pakistan, Dr. Abbas completed his neurology internship and residency at University of Toledo Medical Center in Ohio, where he served as chief resident. He completed a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology (EEG/epilepsy) at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, ranked among the top programs in the country. Dr. Abbas' clinical interests include the medical and surgical options for treatment of epilepsy, the use of medical devices in the management of epilepsy, and the management of psychogenic non-epileptic seizures. He also maintains a special interest in understanding the bio-psycho-social implications of seizure disorders.
