In operation for more than 100 years, Mel Trotter Ministries is a provider of crisis intervention and Biblical counseling services to disadvantaged people. It provides a range of support services, such as shelter, food, clothing, education, computer-based learning, therapeutic recovery and work training. It also provides mentoring, educational sessions, and chapel and independent living services. In addition, Mel Trotter Ministries offer sessions on anger management and communication skills. It also operates a camp and retreat center that includes an indoor gymnasium, snack bar, activity center, and basketball and sand volleyball courts. The camp offers swimming, canoeing, archery, arts and crafts, horseback riding, nature hiking, sports and campfire activities. Mel Trotter Ministries is located in Grand Rapids, Mich.
