Established in 1968, Jackson Middle School offers educational programs in sixth through eighth grades. The school s academic curriculum includes English, science, social studies, math and language arts. In addition, it offers special classes in choir, orchestra, theater arts, physical education, band, Spanish, and family and consumer skills. It operates various school organizations that include runners club, student council and parent-teacher association. The school offers a variety of sports events, such as football, volleyball, basketball, and track and field. It organizes several extracurricular activities, including the spelling and geography bee, character counts, and boy and girl of the month.
