Since I am not allowed to rate this business anything less than a 1, here we are. We had our son enrolled for almost a year. In that time, there was almost a complete turn over of staff including, but not limited to, 4 changes in Director. At 2018 year end, there were 9 people on staff and by mid-February of 2019, 5 of those positions (including Director) had turned over.
During this most recent shift in staffing, we encountered more issues than ever before. The incident that cemented the fact that we would prefer to look for other daycare arrangements than to keep our son under the chaos of this staff happened on Friday, March 8, 2019. I received a call from the Director stating that the Owner was willing to forego the two week notice to withdrawal our son. Confused, I asked what she was talking about. She confirmed that a phone message had been left for her that I was giving our two week notification of withdrawal. I explained that I never made that phone call or had a conversation with staff alluding to our imminent withdrawal. She apologized for the confusion.
I followed up with my husband, who confirmed that he had not made that call. I called ABC Learning Center back to let them know that a family member would be picking our son up in the early afternoon and that I would be in after work to discuss this situation.
I was informed, by the Director, that the phone number that had made the initial call, allegedly made by me, was one of the ABC Learning Center's other business lines. Shocked to find out that a member of the ABC Learning Center staff had called and impersonated me, I informed her of the early pick up and that I would be in to discuss as I felt something odd was happening there. The Director got defensive, stating that there was nothing odd happening at ABC Learning Center.
For a Director of a child care facility to not think this situation was odd, at all, concerns me greatly. Within the hour, I had collected my child and his belongings and we will NEVER use a facility run by Birgitta Doerr.
This facility is an old store front with half-wall dividers between "rooms". The lunch room is so small, that it can barely fit a table. Additionally, the playground/outdoor play area is a high-fenced cage in which the children are locked in with the staff. The outdoor play area is across the back driveway of the building.
If you are looking for a cheap place for child care, they deliver on low cost. However, if you think you are going to get quality care, without a high school drama being played out daily, think again. I would encourage you to search elsewhere.
ABC Learning is ran by younger individuals who are not experienced with children. Their turn over rate with staff is concerning as well. I recently had a situation where the manager of the Center decided to handle an important situation with my older son instead of involving myself or my husband. To say the least, due to how this situation was handled, the situation escalated to a level that is very concerning and I removed my child from this center because I am not comfortable with the care my child is being provided. In addition, the owner does not have an active presence in the day to day operations.

It's now called ABC learning center and under new management! They are great! friendly staff and the director was available to answer every question I had. She was also patient in breaking down how things worked when I was applying for assistance through the state. Sadly, I had to change daycares because of my new job. My daughter hasn't had the same experience with the new daycare and it makes me wonder if we were spoiled by ABC! ;) If you're looking for a new daycare, look no further. You're child will learn while having fun and you can rest assured he/she is receiving loving care while you're away. HAPPY MOM of 1

I love OSA but not so sure about the Management. OSA in GL is closing, they gave us LESS then 2 weeks notice and no owner or director to facilitate questions or concerns. It was VERY disappointing to know that the management would just put a closure notice in our file to pick up when we picked up our child. They left it to the employees/caregivers to take the heat about the closure. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL if you ask me. I will be calling the owner and letting her know how disappointed I was/am and that I have submitted a claim into the BBB about this. I am a military wife and can say that myself and others deserve MUCH more then this.I had NO problems with the caregivers at the GL OSA and hope that they open their own facility. There is not a lot of options in this area and wish things had gone differently.
