General Info
Grace and Peace Biblical Counseling (GAPBC) is a nonprofit Christian ministry that provides counseling services based solely on Biblical principles. Biblical counselors are trained in the Scriptures and knowledgeable in applying them to life situations. We believe the Bible has everything we need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:2-3). We counsel without the hundreds of different psychological therapies on the market, therefore we are not licensed psychotherapists. We believe God's Word has more to say about how to heal the broken hearts of mankind than the theories of Sigmund Freud, Carl Jung, Abraham Maslow, or popular theories of today such as repressed memories, mind-body therapies, self-actualization, etc. The Word of God is sharper than any two-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12). It is a lamp to our feet (Psalms 119:101). It is truth that can set us free (John 8:32). When individuals or families come to GAPBC for counseling they will learn how the Bible makes sense in their situation. For example, all through the NT we see the discussion of law and grace. People often have no idea what that has to do with the argument they just had with their husband. It may have everything to do with it! Christians often don't understand how Christ’s sacrifice on the cross over 2000 years ago can help them with anger, fear, depression, anxiety, habitual sins, or wounded relationships. We are a small organization which serves people often at the lowest point of their lives. We receive referrals from churches, ministries, and former counselees across the western part of Colorado. We currently serve over 100 individuals or families representing over 500 sessions a year. Please pray for the counselees who come into the office. Pray that they would hunger and thirst for the knowledge of God in their lives. Secondly, pray for the counselor to teach the Bible clearly and practically with love and patience. Lastly, would you consider financially supporting this ministry? Many people can’t pay even the low suggested donation and yet they still need counseling. Your tax-deductible gift of any amount would help.
