- GlaucomaGlaucoma is a disease of the optic nerve – the nerve is part of the eye that carries the images we see to the brain. The optic nerve is made up of many nerve fibers, like an electric cable containing numerous wires. When damage to the optic nerve fibers occurs, blind spots develop. These blind spots usually go undetected until the optic nerve is significantly damaged. If the entire nerve is destroyed, blindness results.

- Macular DegenerationIt is important to get a baseline comprehensive eye exam at age 40 to detect any early signs of age-related diseases such as cataracts, diabetes, glaucoma, and age-related macular degeneration. Presbyopia is the eye’s diminished ability to change shape, shifting focus from distant objects to near objects. Presbyopia eventually affects everyone; usually in their mid-forties.
- Laser Eye SurgeryHave you dreamed of a life that includes visual freedom from glasses and contact lenses? If you qualify for LASIK, this could become your reality.
- CataractsA cataract is a clouding of the eye's natural lens. This lens, located behind the iris, works like the lens of a camera. It focuses light images on the retina, which sends images to the brain.
- Cataract SurgeryEye injury, certain diseases, or even some medications can cause clouding, but the majority of cataracts are simply the result of the natural aging process. Cataract surgery restores your vision and, in many ways, significantly improves your quality of life.
- Eye ExamRoutine eye exams are important at any age, regardless of your age or physical health. At Shoreline Vision, our doctors do more than just determine your prescription for eyeglasses or contact lenses. They will check your eyes for common diseases or other problems that could lead to vision loss. They will evaluate the overall health of your eyes. Please remember that vision screenings are limited eye tests that can help identify potential vision problems but a vision screening is not a substitute for a comprehensive eye exam performed by a Board Certified Optometrist or Ophthalmologist.

- BotoxBlepharospasm is a medical diagnosis that can be treated with BOTOX®. This condition causes spasms in and around the eyelids. This results in frequent blinking and closing of the eyes that you can’t control. Because of these symptoms, it can be hard to see. Treatment with BOTOX® can reduce muscle spasms.
