Founded in 1966, WAGES is a nonprofit, community action agency headquartered in Goldsboro, N.C. The organization develops and administers human service programs to help individuals improve their quality of life and health. It operates older adults and children and families divisions. WAGES provides senior companion, foster grandparent, nutrition and medication management programs for senior citizens. The organization s Head Start program offers educational programs, day care and extended day services for families. Its Wayne County First Steps is a voluntary family support and home visiting program that helps to improve the health of parents and children. WAGES additionally provides the Home Delivered Meals Program that maintains the health of impaired senior citizens and offers nutritional meals and daily health checkups.
