Public Works provides infrastructure maintenance and construction services. It has building and safety, engineering, streets and water divisions. The department s engineering division offers plan checking and budget management services. It also administers a variety of small and large improvement projects. Its water division is responsible for the production, disinfection and transmission of drinking water. The department offers bacteriological, organic and inorganic analysis services for more than 300 water samples. It also inspects and maintains storage reservoirs, pump stations and vacuum release valves. The department provides building, electrical, mechanical, sewer, plumbing and demolition permits.
