Now that my 90-day warranty expired, I will put in this review for Eric's Camera Repair. My GL1 had pixelation issues after 7 years of use and since Canon does not support the GL1 anymore, I decided to take it to these guys. The technician told me the video processor needs to be replaced ($250) and I told him to go ahead. He repaired it under three hours because I told him I was from out of town. Stupid me, when I picked up the camcorder, I didn't check everything. I found out when I got home that the viewfinder stopped working, menus couldn't be accessed, and computer didn't recognized the GL1. I called and he sweared he never touched the viewfinder but to bring it in and he'll look at it. I took the camera in and he charged me $80 to fix the viewfinder!! I pleaded with him and we settled for $50. I've never felt so ripped off. Come on, they broke your camcorder and you have to pay for it? How do they stay in business? Now my camcorder works but the quality is not the same, stay away!

I needed to receive the camera for the same day. They were not able to get it for me so quickly, but spent a lot of time talking to me, finding out how I used the camera and telling me the best camera to buy for the work I did. They did this, even though it did not benefit their company. I have been extremely happy with the cameras they repaired, and the new ones they recommended. You cannot get this kind of support and skill at the big electronic stores. Eric's camera is an amazing shop. They will get all of my future business
