Give your dentist the name and phone number of your Cardiologist if they wish to or need to discuss your condition. - Fluoride TreatmentFluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that bonds easily with your tooth enamel, strengthening your teeth. Professional fluoride treatments are an important preventive measure against tooth decay. - Dental SealantsAt AZ Family Dentistry, we can help you prevent cavities by using dental sealants. - FillingsLike any other metal, amalgam fillings contract and expand when exposed to hot or cold temperatures. This means that any time you indulge in a piping hot cup of tea or enjoy a frozen treat in the summertime, all your metal fillings move slightly. Over time, these minute movements make the area more susceptible to decay. They may also cause cracks and other damage to your tooth.
- Resin CompositeCavities are caused by bacteria that live in your mouth and the acids that they excrete. When bacteria are mixed with saliva and acid, plaque is created. This sticky substance clings to your teeth, bringing your enamel in close contact with the harsh acids. Regular brushing helps remove this plaque before it can harden into tartar. Professional cleanings every six months will remove any remaining traces, further reducing your chances of developing cavities. Unfortunately, we may not be able to prevent all cavities from developing, and in this situation, our patients want an option that allows for prompt and effective treatment of the Cavity and helps them to get a bright smile appearance. At AZ Cosmetic and Family Dentistry, we focus on the beautiful and healthy smile appearance of the patient. We are happy to offer our patients metal-free tooth-colored composite resin fillings. With this new filling technology, your fillings will blend in with the natural shade of your teeth, meaning nobody ever needs to know that you’ve had a cavity.
- VeneersPorcelain veneers are often the secret behind the flawless smiles of movie stars and other celebrities. Fortunately, dental veneers have become more available and more affordable than ever, allowing just about everyone to have a Hollywood-quality smile.
- CrownsAt AZ Cosmetic and Family, you can get same-day crowns using the latest dental technology. CEREC®(Chairside Economical Restoration of Esthetic Ceramics) technology is used to prepare the tooth where the crowns are needed to be placed. Our doctors use a camera to scan the mouth and create digital images. Based on those pictures, we will form a 3D model of your mouth to design a dental crown for you. In as little as one hour, the CEREC® machine mills the crown. It is molded perfectly to fit your tooth before it is cemented in. Because of this technology, you can get your crown within a few hours, instead of several weeks.

If your condition has progressed a bit further, regular deep cleaning treatments, called root scaling and planing, may be appropriate. These treatments help to remove bacteria from beneath the gum line and clean out the surface of your roots to prevent them from developing again.
