  Oral cancer can develop anywhere in the soft tissues of your mouth, including your tongue, cheeks, gums, and lips. We’re committed to protecting your whole health and can provide you with regular oral cancer screenings.

Preventive

• Teeth Cleaning
  Talk to your dentist, primary care physician, and Cardiologist. Give your dentist a complete list of names and dosages of all drugs you are taking for your heart disease. Give your dentist the name and phone number of your Cardiologist if they wish to or need to discuss your condition. Ask your dentist if oxygen and nitroglycerin are available during your dental visit in case of emergency. Talk to your dentist about pain management during and after dental procedures including anesthetics and sedation. Visit your hygienist every three months for regular dental cleaning. Brush at least two times per day.
• Fluoride Treatment
  Fluoride is a naturally occurring mineral that bonds easily with your tooth enamel, strengthening your teeth. Professional fluoride treatments are an important preventive measure against tooth decay. We can also assess your habits to make sure you are getting an adequate amount of fluoride outside the office and recommend additional products when necessary.

  At AZ Family Dentistry, we can help you prevent cavities by using dental sealants. In addition to regular cleanings and check-ups, we can also recommend a number of services and products. This will help you keep your teeth healthy and avoid a number of common dental problems, including decay.

Restorative

• Fillings
  Like any other metal, amalgam fillings contract and expand when exposed to hot or cold temperatures. This means that any time you indulge in a piping hot cup of tea or enjoy a frozen treat in the summertime, all your metal fillings move slightly. Over time, these minute movements make the area more susceptible to decay. They may also cause cracks and other damage to your tooth.

In as little as one hour, the CEREC® machine mills the crown. It is molded perfectly to fit your tooth before it is cemented in. Because of this technology, you can get your crown within a few hours, instead of several weeks.

Never stop taking anticoagulants without talking to your cardiologist.
