The McLeod County Sheriff's Office is a law enforcement agency that provides patrol enforcement, cime prevention and reporting, neighborhood watch, identity theft security, and personal and home safety services. It also offers bike patrol, emergency readiness, and gun permit and registration services. The McLeod County Sheriff's Office operates a detention center that provides a secure confinement facility for the housing of inmates who are in pending trial status, as well as those serving short-term misdemeanor sentences. The office operates a communication and dispatch center that provides services for immediate information needs in the course of daily operations and during emergency situations. Located in Glencoe, Minn., the McLeod County Sheriff's Office also undertakes cases for animal control, code enforcement, and criminal investigations and reporting.
