Established in 1970, New Hanover Township Fire Company 1 is a volunteer firefighting organization that provides fire suppression, emergency clinical response and rescue services. It conducts a variety of training sessions, recreational and community programs for local residents and business owners. New Hanover Township Fire Company 1 maintains various rescue vehicles and fire handling equipment, such as pumpers, water tankers, compressed air foam systems, ladders, fire engines, utility trailers and patrol vans. It operates a social hall that offers rental space for organizing various special occasions, including bridal showers, fundraising events, wedding receptions and birthday parties. Additionally, the organization handles more than 225 emergency calls annually. New Hanover Township Fire Company 1 is located in Gilbertsville, Pa.
