Best Greek Food in the Austin area ...I've eaten lots of greek food. I was born in NYC and spent the early part of my adult life between DC, Baltimore and NY where there is a huge Greek community. This is by far the best, most affordable Greek food in the Austin area too. My only gripe is that they bend to local tastes and convention by using Beef instead of Pork Tenderloin for their Souvlaki. This seems to be a trend in Texas .... all the Souvlaki I could find in Dallas was also Beef. That aside, try the Moussaka, Spanikopita, Dolmas, and any of the other classic favorites. It's served casually, in cafeteria style, if you will: grab a tray, go through the line and order. There are pictures of all the dish on the wall entering the building and behind the counter so that the uninitiated will have a eazier time ordering, Oh, and don't forget the desserts ... lots more than just the usual Baklava and rice pudding though they are absolutely to die for too.
