Beware PJ truck and trailer in georgetown ky , I called PJ when my trailer broke down in Georgetown with a wheel hub failure On a Sunday afternoon, I asked the owner of pj if he could help me get back on the road. I told him I had a 40 foot gooseneck trailer with 8000lb axles and was going to need the wheel hub and bearings replaced. He told me that it would be an $85 service call and $95 dollars per hour, I asked him if he had parts in stock for my trailer and he told me that the truck carries a lot of parts and trailer axle hubs are universal in many cases, I figured I need to get on the road and if he has the parts 95 for an hour of labor and a service call will keep me from staying overnight in georgetown, so I told him to send out the truck.
The truck arrived about an hour later and the service tuck had no parts from the start so he started by going to the parts store a 1/2 a mile from where I was located, then he called and told me he was going to another parts store because they did not have the right bearings, after 3 hours of him going to 5 parts stores (according to him) he comes back with the wrong bearings, he did not even measure the axle spindle shaft. He tells me that I'll have to wait untill the morning and he guided me over to a nearby hotel and gives me a $370 dollar bill. I would not have minded to pay this bill if he would have came through with a fix, but to force me to pay this bill for him purchasing the wrong bearings and going to parts stores looking for bearings when he did not even know the shaft diameter. The next morning he calls me and tells me that he found the parts 1 1/2 hour drive away, I told him i spoke to a gentelman at a nearby trailer store that has the parts (7 miles away). He called that store and called me back saying it was the wrong part and it would not work. I told him I would drive to lawrenceberg so I did not have to pay him $95 per hour to drive. I then called the local parts store and he told me that he just told my mechanic that he had the parts to fix my trailer. I ended up taking my trailer to this local trailer shop that was able to fix the trailer within an hour. I asked to talk to the owner of pj truck and trailer repair service and have yet to get a phone call.. I'm out $370 dollars for not accomplishing anything. I had trailer took part prior to service truck arriving so he did not even have to jack it up or take the tire off. Beware of PJ truck and trailer, don't find yourself being milked for $95 per hour to get zero results.
I will keep this posted untill a resolution is reached
