The owner did not disclose all the fees at the time of booking. Owner also said there would be no cancellation period due to it being a week before our arrival date. So I was locked in because he had already charged my credit card. I do not recommend this 'establishment'.

My family and I just returned from a wonderful vacation in Gatlinburg Tn. Great place to visit. We chose Alan s Mountain Rentals for our accommodations. Another big plus. Rented the Carpenter s Cabin. Great mountain view with all the comfort of home. Large hot tub on the deck and plenty of room for grilling. The cabin was all up to date and clean. Very large cabin with plenty of elbow room We will stay with Alan s the next time we visit Gatlinburg. JoAnn Winfrey

Hi, I am the owner of Alan s Mountain Rentals in Gatlinburg Tn. I normally do not respond to reviews from my customers but the ones here from DONALD & DEBORAH are just too outrageous, derogatory, exaggerated, and just downright false I had to. The star rating for this review had to be completed before I could post my defense pay no attention to it. Donald Sellers and wife checked in June in,2014. He called several hours later and said there was a lot of dust on one wall and outside of the frig needed cleaning. That was it. I told him I would have my cleaning crew come by the next day to take care of it. He was fine. The next morning I was going to another rental and drove by his rental. He was setting on the porch. I stopped on my own. He asked if I was coming in now? I told him No but the cleaning crew would be back later when were out going and doing. He was fine. Later his whole party showed up at my office checking out and making all kinds of threats. They were even offered two other three bedroom log cabins that had just been cleaned and they refused to even look at them. There reviews are so false and fabricated. Please visit other sites with our reviews. Yahoo, BBB, etc. and you will find a lot of pleased guest. Donald and Deborah are so far out it is funny.

Great place to stay. We are renting Molly s Cabin. A very nice secluded log cabin. Great mountain view, hot tub, full kitchen, washer&dryer, and the kids love the loft bedroom. I think this cabin is our favorite out of all the cabins we have rented in Gatlinburg. Love It. Randall

I am, Donald Sellers ,My family an myself rented THE CARPENTER CABIN from Alan @ Mountain Rentals Inc. for June 7 to June 14,2014. Paid the deposit of $543.14 on April 4th, the balance upon check in on June 7 of $543.14. Could not see the cabin until paid for, except photos from Mr. Alan's Cabin Rental Website. Once we went to the cabin we called Alan within an hour. The filth and unsanitary conditions were not to be believed . When you opened the door the smell of the Cabin was between mold and dampness . The dust on the log walls was so thick it was white and in some places it was just hanging. The paint was peeling off the bathroom walls . The carpet had large holes in the threshold's so you had to be careful walking as to not trip and fall. The refrigerator had no handle on the bottom door and food spilled inside appeared to have been there awhile. The toaster not only had food a half inch thick in it, there bugs as well. None of the faucets in the cabin would shut off. The sink and bathtubs were stained . There was insulation hanging out under the vanity top . The beds, when you sat on them, the springs were poking you. The mattresses appeared to be at least 20 years old. The bedding smelled musty. The couch and love seat were food stained and the way they smelled you would not want to sit on them . When we called Alan his reply was "I'll send a cleaning crew up to give it a quick once over".

I and my wife Polly had no choice but to stay in the Cabin on Saturday night, as we had no money to rent another Cabin, we had brought some of our own blankets and pillows, we put them on the couch and loveseat and we slept sitting up. On Sunday morning I was sitting on the front porch about 8:00am and Mr., Alan drove bye and turned around, I flagged him down, I asked him if he could come in and look at my complaints. He replied, I'm not coming in, when the rest of your family gets here call me, I'll send a cleaning crew.

All four of us went down to talk to Mr. Alan, Myself my wife Polly, my sister Debbie Hamilton and her fiancé Gary Brendeland . Alan was of no help ,his reply was " I get no complaint when asked about the things you and your family are complaining about". His reply was "you are too picky" . Again I mentioned about the fact that the refrigerator had no handle, his replied "you can just grab the door to open it right". The door on the pantry would not even open it was stuck. I asked him if the photos on his website were posted 20 years ago. I requested a refund he said NO CHANCE, NOT HAPPENING . I have already started the dispute process with my Visa credit card. We are contacting you as well, the Health Department and Better Business Bureau . At this point we have now paid for two Cabin's for our vacation here in the Smoky Mountains. His office should have been a give away run down and nasty. I was glad Aunt Bugs had a cabin available. We vacation in Tennessee every year.

Rented the Carpenters Cabin for our Smoky Mountain Vacation week of 06/07/14 - 06/14/14. The pictures I viewed on his website were beautiful. When I arrived there it was a different story. The Cabin is dirty, dusty and run down. The cabin smelled musty/ moldy. Furniture was stained, mattresses were at least 20 years old. The dust on the log wall was hanging off. The sinks and tubs were stained. Dangerous issues with the threshold going from the bedroom to the bathroom, raised and torn/worn away from the threshold. Peeling wallpaper, peeling paint. Very in healthy to stay in. Contacted the owner about these issues, he replied I will send a cleaning lady to do a quick cleaning. It would take a week to get this cabin cleaned. We asked for a refund on Sunday morning and the owner said NO WAY IT'S NOT HAPPENING. We.handed him the key and left. We have filed complaints with the BBB. Health Dept. Chamber of Commerce and we are disputing the charges on our credit card.

My name is Sally Edgars. We always stay with Alan's Mountain Rentals when visiting Gatlinburg for the last 15 years. We rented Patti Ann's Place this last week. Great mountain view, secluded. A very comfortable and roomy two bedroom log cabin. As always the cabin was up to date and nice and clean. Previously we rented Lora's, Gordon, Shomo's , Carpenters, and a Brentley one bedroom cabin. No problem there either. Give them a try. Sally.

Carpenter s Cabin, a three bedroom log cabin we rented from Alan s Mountain Rentals was great this year. We have used Alan s for four years now. Always a three bedroom log cabin since we always have 6-8 in our party. The other times we stayed in Shomo s Cabin. Both cabins are well kept and Alan s folks always have the cabins nice and clean when we arrive. The Carpenter s Cabin was very nice but I think my favorite is Shomo s Brent, the owner, is always so accommodating and helpful. Ge

We stayed with Alan's Mtn. Rentals for spring break. This was our fourth time. We chose the Carpenter's Cabin this time. Great place, very clean, and well kept. Very confortable and enjoyable week. Coming back in the fall. GeorgeH Chatt. TN
