After my HORRIBLE experience with Dave's Auto Body, I can positively say, DO NOT let this shop work on your car. Dave and I grew up one block apart. We've known each other since we were 10 or 12 years old. Eight of us friends in a two block area, were friends, we all walked to school every day together. Larry Stout, who wrote a positive reply, was one of the 8 friends in the neighborhood, growing up, but he moved out of state over 35 years ago. The ONLY reason Larry Stout wrote a positive review, is because Larry and David are still friends, David didn't cost Larry thousands of dollars, like David did cost me. My car was hit in the right front. When I took my car to him, to repair the front end damage, I asked him to also take the trunk lid off, strip it down, and repaint it. When the the trunk lid was off the car, one of his guys spilled used motor oil in the trunk, which could NOT be readily seen with the black rug.`Used motor oil is a known carcinogen. Both my wife, and I stopped at his shop to tell Dave about ruining the new playpen and stroller, that was placed in the trunk, after we got the car back and both times, all Dave said was, "Gee, I'm sorry" When he brings out my repaired car out, it was clearly a horrible job. I asked Dave, " What's this " ? His exact reply was "This is a production shop" When I take my car, within 3 days, paint fell right off the new fender. When I showed Dave, he said, "I didn't make the fender, or the paint" He repaired` it, but paint only falls off due to poor preparation. I had to pay another body shop to fix the rest of his horrible work. Dave obviously does NOT stand behind his guys work. 25 years ago, my one year old dog, 30 lbs.got hit by a car in a 30 M.P.H. zone, after being hit, my dog got up, and ran home. 6 months later, I get a bill from Dave's Auto Body for $3,400.00 for damage my dog supposedly did to that car. Dave sent the bill 6 months later because after 6 months I could NOT dispute the bill. There is not a one year old dog on this planet that could do that amount of damage. Between the lousy job his guys did on the repair, the cost for me to pay to fix his lousy work, the damage his guys did in my trunk, the $3,400.00 I had to pay for the supposed damage my dog did to another car, the total was over $7,000.00. So Dave,That $7,000.00 you cost me, was that more important than our 25 year friendship, AND you were even in my wedding party ? I know someone who works in the Small Claims Court in West Haverstraw, This person witnessed how a lot of people had taken Dave's Auto Body to court. So I go to the village offices to F.O.I.L. exactly how many people have taken him to court. I was told no records of anybody taking him to court. David is on the Planning Board in West Haverstraw, I bet he had those records deleted. Those records are now up in the clouds with Hillary's E-mails ! Thanks Dave for the thousands of dollars you cost me ! If he will do that to me, as far as he and I go back, he will certainly do the same to you ! Stay away from Dave's Auto Body Shop in Garnerville.
On Face Book, Julia Zariello Babcock wrote a positive review for Dave's Auto Body, Julia is Daves sister-in-law ! Gee, is it any wonder his relative wrote a positive review ? I think NOT. No credibility there.
Since I've known David, since we were 10 or 12 years old, he has ALWAYS been VERY frugal, to put it nicely.
