Located in Gallup, N.M., the National Indian Youth Leadership Project, also known as NYLP, is a nonprofit organization that serves youths. It offers Carol White Physical Education, Corn Pollen Pathways Project, Learn & Serve and NIYLP Americorps programs. The organization s Project Venture program includes activities, such as rock climbing, rappelling, canoeing and mountain biking, as well as community service projects. It also conducts classes on topics related to team building, conflict resolution and communication skills development. The organization also operates the Scared Mountain Learning Center, which includes an amphitheater, playfield and dormitory facilities. It also provides Project Venture National Repication, Roots & Shoots Partnership and Walking In Beauty programs. NYLP also offers weekend, holiday and summer activities, as well as organizes annual national camps.
