We had Howell's put in our septic system, a little less then ten years ago and have had them pump it several times over the years, however 6 or 8 months ago we started getting black water in our back yard. I contacted the Health Department here in Morrow County and they said I should contact the folks who installed our Septic System to find out just where the outlet for the system was, so that I could clear it and keep the black water from coming up in our yard. I called Howell's to ask them if someone might come out and give me an idea just where the outlet was, as I am 77 and not at all able to do it myself. No one returned my call nor any of the other numerous calls I made. When I finally got another Septic Service to come out, I was told that part of my problem was with the Septic System Filter itself. I had no Idea my system even had a filter. When they put it in, Howell's told me how to switch the pipe to allow the alternate drain system to do it's job, every 6 months, but they never told me I was supposed to clean the filter, when I switched the pipe. I found out also that the pipe that the filter is inserted into, was installed wrong and when the new service opened the top of the tank, they had to chip away part of the septic tank, to enable the filter to be removed. They charged me $175.00 for that. I should have them bill Howell's. I had always thought Howell's were a reputable company however their lack of attention to their long time customer's needs has made me rethink how I feel about Howell's. If and when anyone needs this type of service, look elsewhere, as Howell's is not Customer Friendly. Thank you Darl Mills
