After serving the Northern Virginia area for the last 10 years, Matt Dean has established himself as a successful psychotherapist. While using a Cognitive Behavioral and Brief Therapy Approach, he is able to help adults experiencing depressed moods, anxiety issues, anger management issues, loss/ grief, PTSD, abuse and relationship issues. With couples, he specializes in working with communication, separation and divorce issues. Also, he likes to work with teens and children diagnosed with attachment issues, conduct disorder, oppositional defiant, PTSD, abuse, depressed mood, anxiety and general behavior related issues. He has helped hundreds of families and their children create a more healthy and happy home environment. With specialized training in attachment work, he has helped families with adopted children overcome many obstacles involved with transitioning a child into a new family. With EMDR, a modality used to treat trauma/ PTSD and anxiety disorders, he is able to help clients alleviate the distress associated with traumatic memories. In the end, clients report less anxious responses to their everyday events and feeling more in control and empowered. Matt Dean is a Licensed Professional Counselor for the state of Virginia. He is a member for the American Counseling Association. Matt has a Masters degree in Agency and Community Counseling.
