General Info

Dr. Manavalan is an assistant professor of medicine within the Division of Infectious Diseases & Global Medicine. She completed her medical training at Howard University College of Medicine and her Internal Medicine residency training at Yale University. She stayed on as a Chief Resident at Yale and then worked as a primary care physician and clinician educator prior to pursuing infectious diseases training. She completed her Infectious Diseases Fellowship at Duke University. While at Duke she researched the intersection of HIV and cardiovascular disease in Tanzania as a Fogarty Global Health Fellow and completed a Master of Science in Global Health. Dr. Manavalan has a special interest in HIV, HIV-related chronic diseases, and global health.
