David A. McLean, MD, is an associate professor in UF College of Medicine's department of obstetrics and gynecology, medical director for ultrasound services and physician director of quality for obstetrics and gynecology. He is board-certified in obstetrics and gynecology and maternal-fetal medicine.Dr. McLean attended medical school at the University of West Indies in Kingston, Jamaica. He then moved north to Ontario, Canada, to complete his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Ottawa. Following residency, he completed a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at the University of Connecticut in Mansfield, Connecticut. After completing his education, Dr. McLean was on faculty at several major academic institutions in the Northeast and Canada and also served as the medical director of the maternal fetal center at Valley Children's Hospital in Madera, California. Dr. McLean's clinical interests include prenatal diagnosis by ultrasound, high-risk pregnancy care and clinical informatics to promote quality and patient safety for the care that women receive at UF Health. He belongs to several professional organizations and also serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for the National Certification Corporation and as content expert for the Electronic Fetal Monitoring Exam Content and Perinatal Patient Safety and Quality Content committees.
