Founded in 1967, Child Guidance Center, also known as CGC, is a nonprofit organization that provides counseling, educational and medication support services for children and families. The organization works with a team of more than 50 staff members. It serves over 3,100 children annually with emotional and behavioral problems. Child Guidance Center offers outpatient mental health, child and substance abuse counseling services. It also provides diagnostic and treatment assistance services. The organization offers psychiatric consultation, psychological evaluation and psychosocial review services. Child Guidance Center additionally provides individual, family and group therapy and medication support services. It is an OC United Way-funded organization. The organization works in partnerships with several private, nonprofit and educational agencies, including the Tustin Family Resource Center, and UC Davis. Child Guidance Center administers the Parent-Child Interaction Therapy research-based coaching program.
