About Us We are an exceptionally well-trained group of marriage counselors or couple counselors, researchers, and counselor trainers passionate about what we do. We are motivated to help couples move out of negative cycles of fighting in their relationships and into safe and secure ones. One approach that we integrate into our work with couples is Emotionally Focused Couple Therapy (EFT) (www.iceeft.com). It is recognized by the American Psychological Association (APA) as an empirically validated form of couple therapy. Our Services Marriage or Couple Counseling We don’t teach communication skills. Research shows that couples don’t use them when they fight anyway! Nor do happy couples!! We believe you are probably already intelligent in communication, but something happens when it comes to doing this with your partner. We work to establish safety and trust in your relationship. Eventually each partner must come to know: “Can I really be me and you still love me?” “Can I count on you?” “Am I Number One?” “Will you respect me?” “Trust me?” At The Couple Zone we will not sidestep the deep and longing questions. Couples counseling is our specialty.
