Homan Elementary School is a part of the Fresno Unified School District. The school serves more than 900 students in grades kindergarten through six. It offers an extensive curriculum that includes reading, writing, English and mathematics. It offers various programs, such as the comprehensive school reform demonstration and the staff development programs. Its staff development program is based on the cell reform model that focuses on reading and writing skills to improve student achievement and to provide best practices in the classrooms. Additionally, the school has a parent-teacher association, a school site council and a bilingual advisory committee which participate in decision-making regarding the school programs.
