- Gongco Foods, which operates seven Food 4 Less stores throughout the Valley, began in 1938 when the Gong family opened the Fairway Market in downtown Visalia. In 2007, the Fairway Market was converted to a Food 4 Less. Today, Gongco Foods remains headquartered at the Visalia location, and operates Food 4 Less stores in Porterville, Selma, Fresno, Madera, Atwater and Merced. I wanted to let you know that an employee at your store treated me differently at check out stand. He did not greet me nor provide me with a receipt. However, he greeted the next customer after me. I confronted him so he is aware. This is around 7:15pm. I was with my little girl. Please do not tell me because I was an Asian woman and should not get the same treatment. Very disappointed tonight.

I am a regular customer of your store ever since it was opened. Yesterday I stopped in to purchase a few items' one being a box of wine. To my surprise I was asked by Stephanie for my ID. I told her she had to be kidding since I am 67yrs old. She stated asking everyone who buys alcoholic beverages for their ID is now a company policy. When & why was this policy introduced? I was offended by this new policy and am seriously considering taking my business to another store rather than Food 4 Less. I have always been happy with your customer service & products and though I was perturbed by Stephanie's request she was still very courteous. Sincerely, John Bird
