- General SurgeryMario Gonzalez, M.D. received his medical degree from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska in 1983. He then completed a five year general surgical residency at Valley Medical Center in Fresno, CA, a satellite training program of UCSF. Upon completing his residency, he was accepted and completed a fellowship in Trauma Surgery at VMC. He then spent two years on the surgical teaching team with chief responsibilities in the Burn Unit and covering Trauma Surgery call on a regular basis. He sat for his general surgical boards in 1989. After becoming Board Certified in general surgery he went into private practice in Fresno, CA. He was invited to join the Fellowship of American College of Surgeons and was on the interviewing panel of the local chapter for ten years. He is no longer practicing general surgery and is currently not certified. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor with the University of California, San Francisco. He served as Chief of Staff at Community Medical Centers for six years. He decided to devote his practice full time to Phlebology (varicose veins & venous problems). He is a diplomat for the American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine and has joined the staff at Elmore Medical Vein & Laser Treatment Center.
- Vascular SurgeryAs an experienced surgeon specializing in Vascular Surgery, Dr. Gonzalez is able to evaluate and diagnose a variety of circulatory problems. Dr. Gonzalez and his team will perform a comprehensive examination and take a complete medical history to figure out if you have venous insufficiency. He will then order imaging tests to identify the source of problem and diagnose the affected veins.
