Provided by YP.comWe arrived in Freeville on a Friday morning to attend a funeral. Our home is nearly two hours away. Leaving the cemetery I heard an awful "clunk" under one of the front wheels. Two miles later we parked and I knew we had a serious problem. I have AAA and any other means to help but I hadn't the slightest idea who might help us out. A friend suggest we call Jimmy Whyte. We did. We drove the care very gingerly the half block to his garage, he took one look and knew what the problem was. Three hours later we had a new ball-joint (and whatever) and the car was good to go! Total cost . . . about half what it would have been back here in the Rochester area. As far as I'm concerned, little "two bit shops" are worth their weight in gold!
Highly reccomended because they are honest and fair and arenothing but up front with you, and you get what you pay for!

Provided by YP.comWant to pay two hundred percent markup on parts above retail? Well look no further than your local shady repair shop, Whytes!
DO not get your car inspected here. They will make up some b.s. reason for you to fail, while conveniently giving you a grossly overpriced estimate so that you can pass. Conflict of interest, no way! My brakes failed and they just so happened to be able to fix them for me. Guess what, my brakes may be a little rusty, but they did not fail inspection anywhere else. Including the garage I brought my car to less than an hour later. Weird, huh? I did not think that brakes that do not squeak, stutter, slip or leak fluid of any sort should fail inspection, but at Whtye's, they magically do.
This is a two bit bumpkin operation run by folks that simply want to gouge you for as much as they think they can get. This is not too surprising as almost every single tiny, run down garage like Whyte's fits this MO. There is a reason why these places never really get off the ground and are always struggling. They provide poor, overpriced service and miss out on forming any repeat business through their own shady practices. The only people that go to a place like this regularly are those that know nothing about cars at all and have the money to throw away on overpriced service. For this type of railroad job, I would rather go to the dealership. At least a dealership has a corporate component that you can bring your complaints to.
