Established in 1789, the Freeport Fire/Rescue Department is a public safety agency. The department maintains a communication center that coordinates responses to fire, police and medical emergencies. It is a member of the National Fire Protection Association. The Freeport Fire/Rescue Department administers a non emergency transport program. The department also provides training and educational programs in general safety, emergency response and life saving techniques. It maintains a location in Freeport, Maine.
