Not long ago I became a client of Hartwood Animal Hospital. My pets are patients of both veterinarians and I have met and interacted with most of the staff. I have a dog who has had tumor removals, a cat with a concerning leg issue and another cat who recently had a dental and extraction, not to mention two other pets yet to be seen. I have never met a more caring group of professionals and would never think of trusting the health of my pets with any other practice. I cannot say enough great things about them all!
DISGUSTED! I am a licensed Veterinary Technician and have worked in veterinary medicine for twelve years. Recently we moved to the area-this morning I went into the clinic and spoke to the receptionist Charlotte Caton. I informed her that my dog needed an exam because he had been lethargic and vomited bile the previous evening. It wasn't even nine am and I was refused treatment, told there were no available appointments and no possibility of being seen. I offered to wait to see the Doctor and again was refused/declined. I have never had this experience before and thought it was shameful and unethical. I was additionally upset because this vet had been recommended to me. In my experience as a veterinary technician and previous lead receptionist I would never decline treatment to an owner of a sick animal standing in my hospital. Regardless of how overwhelmed or understaffed we may have been at times we were above all ethical, professional and compassionate. Shame on you!

This clinic was amazing! I took my new Springer Spaniel puppy here for her first vet visit. The staff is professional and kind, and they all came over to love on our "baby." Even though Dr. Jewett wasn't the vet seeing us that day, she came in to love on our little girl and introduce herself. Dr. Stamp was amazing with the puppy, everything was positive and gentle. The puppy now thinks of the vet clinic as a 'good' place to go, no fear or pain. This is the way it should be for animal care. Dr. Stamp took time to explain everything about our new puppy, from caring for her long floppy ears to what kind of food is the best nutrition and how to achieve potty training success. I couldn't have asked for more - I felt like I was visiting with a friend. Our kitties have been going to another practice, but we will be changing the whole fur 'family' over to this clinic. The rates are very reasonable for the area, and the facility is beautiful as well!! Wish I could give 10 stars!!

As not just a dog owner but a dog person I really appreciated my first experience at hartwood where they were fully booked, had an emergency and still found time to see my dog. I was FORMERLY a long standing client of Confederate Ridge Animal Hospital but I got tired of not being able to see the same vet and being turned away because they were full when my dog was ill. I really like that this clinic turns no one away. My dog was treated, and we weren't rushed despite the fact that they were well past closing hour and we had never been there before. The vet was great with my 12 1/2 year old. Very thorough and he is fine now! I will go back!

Dr. Jewett is fantastic! We had to find a vet who could care for our new cockatiel and she is just want we needed. She is a very knowledgeable, caring, and overall wonderful person. The office staff is great and the clinic itself is topnotch.
Compasionate care for your pets. This is a vet who will take a personal interest in you and your pet. We use the "Just Cats" practice in Fredericksburg for our cat, but I had a hard time finding someone qualified and interested in treating my son's Cockatiel (bird). Glad we found Dr. Jewett. You will enjoy meeting her. The facility is new and is located in Celebrate Virginia near Rt. 17 & I-95.
Dr. Jewett and her staff are compassionate, animal loving people. They provide care in a "cozy and comfortable" atmosphere. Dr. Jewett takes her time explaining pets health care needs to clients using a "teaching" style so owners can understand. She emphasizes "preventative care" to avoid problems over treating problems after that fact. She is enthusiastic in her approach to helping animals and genuinely loves her work. Her office provides clients with reminders for when exams and tests are due, as well as, providing diagnosis sheets pertaining to pets health care issues. Each client leaves her office with a better understanding of their pet's health care. Written medication and home care instructions are provided to clients. Dr. Jewett and her staff are extremely friendly, kind, and truly make you feel that you've known them for years! Hartwood Animal Hospital is a definite ASSET to our community due to the talents of this fine doctor and her staff
I have been going to Dr. Jewett for 10 years and she is by far the best veterinarian I have ever been to in my life. She's not only a brilliant vet, she's kind, caring, and treats all animals as if they were her own, and she treats pet owners like family. She also has a phenomenal staff who are as kind and caring as she is. While there are at least twenty vet clinics closer to where I live, I drive 50 miles to Hartwood Animal Hospital because I know my pets will receive the absolute best care possible.
