- Dental ExaminationFrederick Smiles Dental Care believes that a healthy mouth is the foundation of a beautiful smile. We take a proactive approach to preventative dental care. Your first visit will begin with a new patient exam and pre-clinical consultation. During this appointment, you’ll have an opportunity to discuss your concerns and goals with doctors and tour our office.
- X-rays
- Oral Cancer Screening
- Teeth CleaningOur doctors will advise on a dental cleaning schedule which may be included as part of your first visit. If you have signs of gum disease, tooth decay or extensive tooth wear, we may schedule your dental cleaning on a future visit.
- Fluoride TreatmentThe Zoom process uses a light activated pH-balanced Hydrogen Peroxide gel that gently penetrates teeth to break down deep stain in the enamel. The simple procedure takes just over an hour to complete, rather than weeks of at-home tray treatments. The procedure concludes with a five-minute fluoride treatment.
- Dental SealantsWith comprehensive treatment planning, we work hard to help all our patients achieve the maximum dental health benefits. We believe in the concept of preventive care and education when it comes to optimal dental health. Our goal is providing dental health care rather than disease care, which is why our practice places so much emphasis on thorough oral examinations. We understand that routine cleanings, flossing, sealants, and fluoride are very important factors in preventing dental disease. We focus not only on the beauty of your smile but your overall health as well. Reviewing your medical history helps us stay informed about your medical health and any issues that may be relative to your dental health.
- Fillings
- Resin CompositeHere at Frederick Smiles Dental Care, we offer porcelain and composite resin dental fillings to restore your smile to optimal health and beauty. Known as “white fillings†, these restorations are an alternative to standard metal fillings, made from tooth-colored materials that are sculpted and adhered to teeth to repair decay. Because they look natural, they are a superior choice for most patients.
- VeneersTooth bonding can be used as both a cosmetic dental treatment and a restorative treatment to repair or protect teeth. Unlike veneers, tooth bonding can be done quickly and in office, with less expense to you.
- CrownsWhen a tooth is badly broken down due to a large filling or advanced decay, it is in danger of cracking. The best option is often to place a crown on the tooth to save the remaining healthy tooth structure. We use tooth-colored materials like porcelain and zirconia to give the appearance of natural teeth, retaining translucency and color variations.
- BridgesThe dental bridge will be fabricated in a dental laboratory. You may have a temporary, tooth colored intermediate bridge to wear between appointments. During the delivery appointment, you will have the opportunity to evaluate the shade and fit of your final dental prosthesis. Once both you and the dentists at Frederick Smiles Dental Care are happy, the bridge will be permanently cemented into place.
- Dental BondingWhen it comes to investing in a dental treatment, you want to be certain you are choosing the right one. Dental bonding is excellent for closing gaps between teeth, repairing chipped or cracked teeth, and protecting exposed tooth roots. Due to the myriad of applications for dental bonding, it is a great solution for many patients and provides an array of benefits. Some of these benefits include the following...
- Restorative DentistryIn most cases, your dentist will work extremely hard to restore the teeth you have in place and to utilize restorative dentistry to ensure the health of your existing teeth. However, there are certain situations where the removal of teeth is an absolute necessity.
- Root Canal TreatmentIn some situations, a dental filling alone will not be enough. If you leave a cavity for too long, it can spread and cause severe damage to your tooth as a whole. In this case, your doctor might recommend a cap or crown. If the decay has reached your nerves, a root canal or pulp capping may be necessary. The longer you put off dental work, the more severe the damage will be and the more in-depth the solution will be.
- Deep CleaningDepending on what issues you are facing, we will employ the proper method for cleaning and repairing your gums. One common method is to provide a deep-cleaning through scaling and root planing. This is the ideal place to start controlling gum disease, as it allows you to tackle the root of the issue. We will remove plaque and tartar from beneath the gum tissues, using specialized instruments.
- DenturesOnce upon a time, the only solution for missing teeth was found in dentures, bridges, and partials. Now, however, there are a variety of options available for those who have missing teeth. Whether you lost teeth due to decay, injury, or disease, dental implants might be the right solution for your needs. Check out the benefits of dental implants below. more
- Dental ImplantsFrederick Smiles Dental Care offers patients the option of dental implants to restore missing teeth. Our doctors will coordinate your entire treatment, personally handling the treatment plan and dental implant restoration.
