I work for a diesel shop and have been a professional mechanic for four years now. I went to F and F trying to get away from all of the BS I have encountered at Firestone, Tires Plus, Goodyear, etc. I took my 2003 Audi A6 there because ONE of the tires has a huge bulge in it and is about to explode. When I got there, before even looking at it, the manager told me that, because my car is all wheel drive, I would probably need all four. Three of my tires are at about 80 percent. One is practically new. After coming out to look at the car, he checked the tread on one tire (7/32) and told me that I would need a whole new set, otherwise it would destroy the transmission(!) I told him that I was a mechanic. Then, he agreed to sell me the tire if I signed a waiver. Once inside, he changed his mind and wouldn't sell me a tire. I asked how many transmissions he had changed because of this. If you want to know if he was lying, call and ask for a quote on a transmission.
