I accompanied my friend to purchase a blue crown conure for his daughter around halloween 2010 after weeks of searching for the right bird and the right store to buy from. Feeling confident we had picked a credible vendor to purchase from, we took Champ home to introduce him to his new home and family. Its hard to imagine how such a small creature can have such a large role as part of the family until you own a parrot. When you purchase a pet from a petstore you can only take there word when it comes to the quality & health of the animal. Sadly we lost Champ in April due to birth defects & abnormalities. The average life span of these birds is 35 yrs, Champ lived for 5 months. Several attempts have been made to have corporate management involved in replacing the bird. They have admitted on a local management level that there is an issue but are unwilling to respond on a corporate level. They have stated they are unwilling to resolve this grievance on any level. I purchased a Scratch and Climb that was marked $9.99 but rang up $18.99. At first I thought I may have looked at the wrong price or that the item may have been placed in the wrong location. THerefore, prior to questioning the price I verified the amount/ discription on the shelf where I picked up the item. The price on the shelf stated "Scratch and Climb - $9.99" and there were two boxes sitting there. I asked the cashier to confirm the price. She stated "it says $9.99 for the scratch and climb .. however, the sku doesn't match." She asked for the manager who came over, looked at the description/price, went to the cash register & stated it was the wrong item & that the store hadn't carried that item in some time. I asked that she adjust the price since it was clearly marked $9.99. THe manager refused stating she COULD NOT discount the item more than $1 or $2. I was VERY upset and she was VERY RUDE & showed no concern. BAD customer service - I will NEVER go back to that store!!!
