Hillsboro Elementary and Middle School is an art-focused school that serves more than 500 students in prekindergarten through grade eight. It has been operational for more than 110 years and offers a range of academic courses, such as art, music, math, social studies, science, language arts and physical education. The school provides accelerated reader, Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.), reading recovery, and before- and after-school care programs. Its library and media center has a collection of more than 7,000 books, multimedia CDs, magazines, encyclopedias, periodicals and newspapers. In addition, the school provides classroom guidance and academic and individual counseling to students. It involves students in several sports activities, such as football, baseball, softball, cross country, volleyball and cheerleading. Hillsboro Elementary and Middle School is a part of Williamson County Schools and is located in Franklin, Tenn.
